In this step, you define the periods after which the transaction PTMW automatically switches from change mode to display mode. This is the case when the user does not make any changes to the data accessed within these periods or does not perform any user interaction. Examples of user interactions are displaying detailed information, switching to another view and selecting a different period.

You specify the periods in minutes, after which the system warns the use of an imminent switch to display mode, as well as the time after which the switch will actually take place. You can define different periods for your country groupings and company codes.

While a user is using the transactions to access data in change mode the system locks this data. When the system makes the automatic switch from change mode to display mode, it unlocks the data and releases it for other users to make changes.

Enter the following for the respective country groupings and company codes:

  • The number of minutes after which the system warns the user of the imminent switch from processing mode to display mode.
  • The number of additional minutes after which the system finally switches the respective transaction to display mode.

For more information about the automatic switch from change mode to display mode in transaction PTMW, see SAP Note 2772337.
