You will use this activity in later releases to determine which fields you want to use in the employee list of the Time Manager's Workplace (TMW). The information displayed there gives the user additional information on the employees. The employee list can consist of several hierarchy levels.

Users can use display variants to determine which of the available fields they actually want to display in the TMW.

In Release 4.6B the following two standard field selections are available for the employee list:

  • SAP_EE_WORKLIST_NAVIGATION (Field selection for message processing)
  • SAP_EE_DEFAULT_NAVIGATION (Field selection for all other scenarios; for Release 4.6B this means time recording)

Please note the following:

This activity is currently available as a "demo version" only. You can change the two standard field selections or create new field selections, but the field selections cannot currently be generated. In Release 4.6B you can therefore only display changes to the field attributes for the standard field selections in the TMW.

If you want to select additional fields that are not provided in the standard system, you must first define display objects.

In Release 4.6B use only the two standard field selections, "SAP_EE_WORKLIST_NAVIGATION" and "SAP_EE_DEFAULT_NAVIGATION".

  1. Choose one of the field selections.
  2. Choose the Customizing Settings for Field Selection activity in the dialog structure by double-clicking it.
  3. Choose Maintain entries.
The fields listed under Selection fields can be chosen for the field selection. The fields listed under Selected fields are the fields that you have chosen for the field selection.
  1. Choose the required fields.
You can change the sequence of the selected fields by moving the fields up or down. To do so, select one or more entries and choose the arrow pointing upwards or downwards.
  1. Confirm your entries.

You can use the following additional options for each field:

  • In the Display type field, you can specify whether the field value, the field text, the field label, or the icon is displayed.
  • If required, enter in the Display length field how many characters you want to be displayed for each field. If you leave this field blank, the field length is taken from the Data Dictionary.
  • You can also determine whether you want:
  • The value of a field to be updated after each change

  • A field to be hidden

  • The values of a numerical field to be totaled

  • If required, specify a technical sort field for an output field. A technical sort field enables you to sort the output field according to the criteria specified in the sort field. You must insert the technical sort field as a field in the field output before you can use it to sort an output field.
Identify the technical sort field as such so that is does not appear in the display.
  • Specify whether you want the field to be sorted in ascending or descending order.
For detailed information on these options, see the corresponding field documentation.
  1. Save your entries.
