SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you define the closure actions items and the relevant backend processing that the system will perform for an action item.

The closure action items that you define here, are displayed on the Define Closure screen of HR Policy Management application and the user can select the relevant action while defining a policy.

You can also define a closure item as a folder and under this folder you can define a hierarchical structure containing of sub folder and closure actions. For each closure action you define a method and class that the system uses to trigger relevant processing.

Note

The closure action are processed with the help of a closure report or transaction that HR administrator executes, when the policy request process has either been rejected or approved and the policy request needs to be tracked for closure.

  1. Select New Entries.
  2. Enter the unique closure action ID and its description.
  3. Select the validity period.
  4. Select the closure action type in Action type field. Based on this, the system determines the course of action that must be followed regarding policy closure.
  5. Enter the relevant class name and method name for the corresponding action type. Based on this, the system performs the relevant backend processing.
  6. Enter the action ID in Parent Node field, under which you want to create the closure action.
  7. Select Is Folder checkbox, if you want to make the closure action as a folder. If you select this checkbox, you must leave the Parent Node field blank. In case you want to create a sub folder under a folder, enter the folder ID in the Parent Node field.
  8. Enter the Short Description for the corresponding closure action. The system uses the text that you maintain here as the tool-tip that appears for the closure action on the Define Closure screen.
  9. Save your entries.

Consider that you want to create a closure action as Updating Additional Off-Cycle Payments.

Note that, before you create a closure action, you must have created class and method as described in Closure Action document provided by SAP. Once you have created the class and method, you must maintain the following values relevant for closure action, in this view:

  • Enter the unique action ID, such as CA001.
  • Enter the closure action name as Updating Additional Off-Cycle Payments.
  • Select the Start and End Date.
  • Select the closure action type as Update Master Data in Actiontype field.
  • Enter the class name and method name which you have created for this closure action. Based on this, the system performs the relevant backend processing.
  • Do not maintain any values in Parent Nodefield and do not select the Is Folder checkbox.
  • Enter the Short Description as Closure action for updating additional off-cycle payments for the closure action. The system uses the text that you maintain here as the tool-tip that appears for the closure action on the Define Closure screen.
  • Save your entries.

Note that, you also have an option to create a closure action as a folder. In this case, you must maintain Parent Nodefield and select Is Folder checkbox.

Consider you want to create Communication as a Folder, in which you will further create other closure actions. For this scenario, you must maintain the following values in this view:

Create the Communication action as a folder:

  • Enter the unique action id as AC001.
  • Maintain the validity of the closure action.
  • Select Is Folder checkbox to make this node as folder.
  • Enter the action name as Communication in Action Name field.
  • Save your entries.
