In this Customizing activity, you maintain the screen fields that you want in the template and their attributes. You can do the following configurations in the template:

  • Generic Properties such as field order, field label and information text
  • Appearance on Screen such as field type, field width, position of the field
  • Default Value of the field
  • Classand Method Name to fetch the default value for the field
  • F4 Classand Method Name to display a default value as drop-down list in the field
  • Requestor's Privileges such as, whether a field will be visible to employee or enabled for editing
  • Approver's Privilegessuch as, whether a field will be visible, enabled for editing or will be a read-only field and so on, to the approver.

You must have created Template ID in Maintain Request Template ID.

  1. Enter the Template ID in which you want to add the fields. This is the template ID that you have created inMaintain Request Template ID.
  2. Select New Entries.
  3. Choose the relevant value from dropdown options in Screen Headerfield. This determines whether the field that you create, is a text field or amount field and so on.
  4. Select the Start Date and End Date.
  5. In Generic Properties group-box, enter the Field Order, Field Labeland its corresponding tool-tip in Information Text field. Field order defines the sequence of a particular field on the screen template. The data that you maintain in the field label will be displayed as label for the particular field on the screen template. The system displays the data that you maintain as information text as the tool-tip for that particular field.
  6. In Appearance on Screen group-box, maintain:
  • Field Type - Based on this, you define field properties. For example, whether you want a field as a check box, drop-down and so on.

  • Position of the Field - Indicates the location based on which the system positions a field in a designated section on the screen. By default, the screen is divided into 6 sections. For example, you can position a particular field in 1st left container or 2nd right container and so on.

  1. In Configure: Default Value group-box, specify the default value for the field. This value will be displayed in the corresponding field on screen template.
  2. In Default Dynamic Value Set group-box, specify the class and method name. System uses this class and method name to derive the default value, in case you want to display any other value as default instead of the value that you maintain in Default Value field.
  3. In F4 Dynamic Value Set group-box, specify the class and method name using which the system fetches the default value that will be displayed as drop-down list for the field.
  4. In Requestor's Privilegesgroup-box, maintain the attributes for the field. You can set any of the following attributes for the fields appearing on the policy request screen:
  • Visibility on screen

  • Editable

  • Read-only

  • Mandatory

  1. In Approver Privilegesgroup-box, maintain the attributes for the field. You can set any of the following attributes for the fields appearing on the policy request screen:
  • Visibility on screen

  • Editable

  • Read-only

  • Mandatory

Note that, you must select Read-only checkbox only if you want a particular field to be visible on the screen but you do not want the user the edit the same.

  1. Save your entries.
