In this IMG activity, you map reservation category to ethnic origin and region. You should only map reservation categories belonging to vertical reservation type.

In the standard system, you maintain ethnic origin of an employee in Additional Personal Data infotype (0077) and the state or region to which the employee belongs in Personal Data infotype (0002). To determine the reservation category of an employee, you map reservation categories to ethnic origin and region. System uses this mapping to entitle an employee for benefits based on caste.

  1. Select New Entries.
  2. Specify the ethnic origin.
  3. Specify the reservation category.
  4. Save your entries.

Consider a company X with:

  • Reservation categories as:
  • Scheduled caste

  • Scheduled tribe

  • Other backward classes

  • Unreserved

  • Ethnic origins as:
  • Dalit

  • Arzal

  • Harijans

  • Region as:
  • Andhra Pradesh

  • karnataka

  • Delhi

You can map reservation categories to ethnic origins and regions as follows:

  • Select reservation category as Scheduled caste
  • Select ethinic origin as Dalit
  • Select region as Andhra Pradesh

Hence, an employee, who belongs to an ethnic origin Dalit and region as Andhra Pradesh is entitled for benefits applicable for reservation category Scheduled caste.
