In various branches of the public sector, employees can be rehired after their contract is terminated with certain restraints.

In this Customizing activity, you determine the lock period in which the employee cannot be rehired. The lock periods vary depending on the following factors:

  • Previous termination action type
  • Reason of the previous termination action

When you specify a length of time, you have the following options to determine the lock period:

  • After: The employee can be rehired right after the previous termination; but after the specified period of time, the lock period starts, that is, the employee cannot be rehired.
  • Within: The lock period starts after the previous termination, and lasts the specified length of time. After the period, the employee can be rehired.
