In this Customizing activity documentation, you can find recommendations relevant for work centre/ basic pay (WPBP) splits and information about how this affects your implementation of the Teachers' Pension Monthly Data Collection (TP MDC) solution during the processing of the GBTMD (Teachers' Pension: Monthly Data Collection (MDC)) payroll function, the Teachers' Pension: Monthly Data Collection (RPUTPSG0_MDC) report, and the Teachers' Pension: Monthly Data Collection (RPUTPSG0_MDC_PRESELECTION) report.

Read the following recommendations:

Tip 1

If your TP MDC go live is mid-periodfor any of your payroll areas that have employees relevant for TP MDC, then you need to create a WPBP split on the TP MDC go-live date for those employees. You can do that by creating an action "TP MDC Go Live" in the Actions infotype (0000) for those employees that are going live mid-period.

Tip 2

WPBP splits are not processed in the following cases:

  • The employee is not active.
  • The employee is not relevant for TP.
  • The WPBP split is before the TP MDC go-live date.

Note that the Withdrawalindicator is set (and sent) on the TP MDC record for the last active WPBP split before the employee left or ceased membership. This implies that the payroll must retro back to the last active WPBP split when an employee leaves or ceases membership. For more information, see the Leaving Employment Customizing activity.

Tip 3

All your payment wage types need accurateWPBP splits.

Example
In the standard system, the SxP payment wage types (for example, SMPR and SMPN) are all assigned an accurate WPBP split. If you have PCRs that change (or even remove) the WPBP split assignment against the SxP payment wage types, then that will have a knock-on effect on the data that you submit using TP MDC and it may be necessary to use the PAYROLL method of the BAdI: Teachers' Pensions Monthly Data Collection Business Add-In to correct the values report.
