In this Customizing activity documentation, you can find recommendations relevant for testingand information about how this affects your implementation of the Teachers' Pension Monthly Data Collection (TP MDC) solution during the processing of the GBTMD (Teachers' Pension: Monthly Data Collection (MDC)) payroll function, the Teachers' Pension: Monthly Data Collection (RPUTPSG0_MDC) report, and the Teachers' Pension: Monthly Data Collection (RPUTPSG0_MDC_PRESELECTION) report.

Note the following:

  • The majority of your testing (95%) takes place within the payroll.
Though there are only 7 wage types that are created in the Resultstable (RT) as part of the TP MDC solution, you must make sure that the values are 100% correct in all scenariosbefore running the report outside the payroll to aggregate data and create the CSV files to sumbit.
There are three complex wage types that may need detailed analysis to ensure they have the correct data:
  • TP00 (amount field) Days Excluded

  • TP01 (amount field) Annual Salary

  • TP02 (amount field) Part Time Salary

The other four wage types (TP03, TP04, TP05 and TP06) are simple. As long as the wage type groups are defined and the payment/contribution wage types have WPBP splits assigned, the values are populated correctly.
  • Once you move to testing the reports, it is important to realise that TP MDC works in a similar way to the payslip.
Wage types are stored in the Resultstable (RT) in every payroll period and those wage types are subsequently compared for differences by a report run outside of the payroll. Any differences cause an Update ("U) record to be generated and sent to Teachers' Pension. The current period's data is sent as an Active ("A") record.
Only the current period's master data (for example, forenames, surname, address, email) is sent to Teachers' Pension because for them the history of this data is not relevant as it is only used for communication with the member and not recalculating their pensionable service.
