In this customizing activity, you can define the method of the HRA exemption calculation that the system uses.

For this, you can set the value of the Monthly HRA Exemption (INMHR) constant to one of the following:

  • 0 – System calculates the HRA exemption of the employee annually for the corresponding financial year by considering the minimum of the 3 components
  • 40% or 50% of the basis amount (Depending on whether the accommodation is in Non-Metro/Metro city)

  • Annual House Rent Allowance

  • Difference of the Actual rent paid and 10% of basis amount for that year.

Note: This is the default value of this constant.

  • 1 - System calculates the HRA exemption of the employee monthly by considering the minimum of the 3 components every month
  • 40% or 50% of the basis amount (Depending on whether the accommodation is in Non-Metro/Metro city)

  • Monthly House Rent Allowance

  • Difference of the Actual rent paid and 10% of basis amount for that month
