As per the Labor Law of the Sultanate of Oman, when an employee leaves the organization after a certain period of continuous service, the employer must pay the employee a post-service gratuity. The system calculates this amount as the wage of fifteen days for each year of service for the first three years, and the wage of one month for each of the following years.

Note that only non-Omani employees are eligible to receive a post service gratuity amount from the employer. The employee will not receive a post service gratuity amount if the duration of service is less than a year. However, if the employee's reason for termination is death, he or she will receive the amount even if the duration of service is less than a year. Even if the employee completes the stipulated period of service which makes him or her eligible for post service gratuity, the employer can withhold the payment of this amount on various grounds such as false identity, compliance issues and so on.
