In this Customizing activity, you assign authorizations to call up the worklists in SAP QIM. You can also define your own queries. The layout for a worklist is stored in a query.

If you want to assign authorization based on roles, you must have created the roles in the transaction PFCG.

We deliver different application IDs of the type Standard POWL.

  • The application QIM_GQIA_POWL with the following assigned POWL types is used for direct display of the worklists in QIM:
  • QIM_GQI_POWL: POWL for issues

  • QIM_GQA_POWL: POWL for activities

SAP delivers various queries for this application.
  • The application QIM_POWL is used to display a CHIP with an overview of the worklists on the home page of QIM.
  • Other applications and POWL types are delivered to call objects (such as general notifications) from the worklist. These are found in the system in which the object is located that is to be called:
  • QAM_QI_AUD_IT_POWL: Action-relevant audit questions (from SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.31 EHP 6)

  • QAM_QA_AUDIT_POWL: Audit actions (from SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.31 EHP 6)

  • QAM_QI_XXNO_POWL: Notification headers (from SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 5)

  • QAM_QI_XXNO_IT_POWL: Notification items (from SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 5)

  • QAM_QA_XXNO_POWL: Notification tasks (from SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 5)

  • QAM_QI_FMEA_IT_POWL: FMEA defects (from SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 6)

  • PLM_FMEA_ACT_POWL: FMEA actions (from SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 6)

You set up the authorizations to call the worklists for quality issues and quality activities for the combination of application ID and POWL type or query. To do this, select the application ID QIM_GQIA_POWL and, under Register Type or Register Query, store the roles or users that are to be given authorization.

For the applications that are necessary from a technical point of view to call entries from the worklists, set up the authorizations depending on which systems the objects are in:

  • If the objects are in the same system because you have installed QIM on an ERP system, for example, set up the same authorizations as for the QIM worklists.
  • If you have installed QIM parallel to ERP or Audit Management, you must call the POWL cockpit in the non-QIM system and make the authorization settings there. In this case, it is sufficient if you set up the same user that is stored in the RFC connection in the POWL cockpit.

To create your own queries centrally and make them available to a number of users (admin queries), under Register Query, choose the Maintain Query pushbutton or call the transaction POWL_QUERY. For more information about the exact procedure, see the general documentation for POWL. Then assign the roles or users to them as described above.

When a user calls a query in the worklist, a user-specific copy of the admin query is created.

If you want to subsequently change the selection criteria of an admin query, first run the program POWL_D04. For more information, see the documentation for the program POWL_D04.

To delete an admin query from the list of worklists, first deselect the Activate indicator in the view for registering the POWL query.

Then run the following programs:

  • POWL_D01 to clear the query cache for user-specific queries
For more information, see the documentation for the program POWL_D01.

Individual users can delete a query from the list of worklists by removing the respective query from the list of active queries under personalization so that it is then listed under Available Queries.
