QAM_VV_I_PHASE - Define Steps

In this Customizing activity, you can define steps that subdivide the processing of an issue or problem into phases or stages. This allows you to implement problem-solving methodologies like 8D in SAP QIM.

You specify the description of a step by assigning an OTR alias.

You have created OTR texts with an OTR alias for the descriptions in the transaction SOTR_EDIT.

To implement the 8D methodology, eight steps for the eight disciplines are delivered in a BC Set. These steps are represented in the delivered Web Dynpro application configuration QIM_OVP_8DISS.

If you want to implement your own problem-solving methodologies in SAP QIM, first create the steps in this Customizing activity and then make the settings for the individual steps (under Define Settings for Steps).

You define the structuring of the steps and their representation on the user interface in a Web Dynpro application configuration for the respective methodology.

Also create an issue type for each methodology, to which you then assign the respective Web Dynpro application configuration.
