This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Quality Inspection Engine (CA-QIE) component. You can use this BAdI to individually check the arguments entered when creating or changing an inspection rule. The BAdI is called when an inspection rule is created or changed.

To prevent an inspection rule being saved based on a failed individual inspection, at least one message with the message type E (Error) needs to be transmitted using the ET_RETURN export table of the CHECK_IRULE_ARGS BAdI method. This terminates the saving of the inspection rule.

Multiple messages can be transmitted to the ET_RETURN export table. However, as the process continues, only messages with the message type E and W (Warning) are taken into consideration. These messages are displayed, for example, in the Maintain Inspection Rule transaction on the SAP Easy Access screen under Logistics > SCM Extended Warehouse Management > Extended Warehouse Management > Master Data > Quality Management (transaction /SCWM/QRSETUP).

This BAdI uses interface IF_QIE_CHECK_IRULE. For more information, display the interface in the Class Builder.

The inspection rule has consistent arguments that the QIE standard inspections are running successfully.

For more information about the standard settings (filters, single or multiple usage) see the Enh.Spot Element Definitions tab in the BAdI Builder (transaction SE18).

For information about how you implement BAdIs in the Enhancement Framework, see SAP Library for the SAP NetWeaver Platform in SAP Help Portal under http://help.sap.com/nw_platform. Choose a release and then Application Help. In SAP Library, choose SAP NetWeaver Library: Function-Oriented View -> Application Server -> Application Server ABAP -> Application Development on AS ABAP -> ABAP Customer Development -> Enhancement Framework.
