This Customizing activity is relevant if you use defects processing of nonconformance management and you want to transfer defects to quality notifications in the Manage Defectsapp.

You can only transfer defects to notifications if a mapping between the defect category and the notification type is maintained. In the Manage Defects app you can only select notification types for which a mapping to the defect category exists.

If you have implemented the automatic transfer of a defect to a quality notification, you need to specify a default notification type for the defect category.

You also have to consider that the settings of defect category and the notification type match logically:

• If you have custom fields defined for a defect category, the custom fields should also be activated for the notification in the Custom Fields and Logicapp. However, you cannot restrict the custom fields to a specific notification type.

• If affected objects are allowed for a defect category, the further processing of the affected objects in the notification should be implemented by activities in the action box.
