R3CIF_CPPA - Define Variant

In this IMG activity you create a variant of program /SAPAPO/CIF_POSTPROC_ALERT (CIF Postprocessing Alert) to schedule this program for background processing.

You can use the CIF postprocessing alert to check whether postprocessing records were generated as part of CIF error handling and to determine whether the person who caused the error or the system administration is to receive a notification. This makes it easier to monitor the change transfer for transaction data.

• CIF error handling must be active.

• Depending on the recipient type that you choose, the relevant communication interface must be configured.

1. Call program /SAPAPO/CIF_POSTPROC_ALERT in the SAP menu for SAP APO under APO Administration -> Integration -> CIF Error Handling -> CIF Error Handling: Alert or by using transaction /SAPAPO/CPPA.
2. Specify the SAP R/3 target system for which CIF error handling is active. You can use selection criteria to restrict the postprocessing records whose creation is to trigger a message being sent.
3. Specify whether the person who caused an error or the system administration is to be informed and whether only one message is to be sent. It is usually recommended that you only have one message sent to the system administration.
4. Save your entries as a variant under Goto-> Variants-> Save as Variant.

Then schedule this variant of the program for background processing. For more information, see Schedule Job.
