R3CIF_DELTA - Define Variant

The CIF comparison/reconciliation of transaction data allows you to compare data in SAP APO and SAP R/3 online or in the background. It often makes sense to run the comparison in the background if you have a large volume of integration data that requires a correspondingly long runtime. This means that you can compare the data when there is a reduced data load, for example, at night, and then load and process the saved results at a later point in time, for example, the next morning.

To save the comparison results, you need SAP APO 4.0 and SAP R/3 Plug-In 2003.1 or higher.

Create a variant of the CIF comparison/reconciliation:

1. Call the CIF comparison/reconciliation and choose Execute Comparison/Reconciliation.
2. Specify the selection criteria as described in the online help. Under Background Processing choose Save Results and, if required, Execute Iteration. Specify a name for the save and a comment, if required.
3. Save your entries as a variant under Goto-> Variants-> Save as Variant.

Then schedule this variant of the program for background processing. For more information, see Schedule Job.
