With this Customizing activity, you can set up background RFC (bgRFC) destinations.

When financial transactions are changed, mark-to-market values are updated automatically. By default, these updates are executed in a background task.
To monitor and queue these updates, you can set up bgRFC destinations so that the updates are performed by bgRFC calls.
If you use bgRFC destinations, you can enter in an RFC destination alternative user data differing from the user executing the transaction. If you do not enter any user data here, the system applies by default the user data of the user currently logged on. Furthermore, the bgRFC monitor can be used to detect technical issues that might occur during the updates.
Depending on the selected options, the following objects are created:

  • bgRFC inbound destination
  • RFC connection CFM_AFWGO_RT_UPD for updating commodity price exposures

You need to have set up a single records procedure for real-time updates. For this, navigate to Edit Key Figures and Evaluation Procedures. Alternatively, you can use transaction code AFWKF_RA.
Furthermore, you must have authorization to create bgRFC destinations and RFC connections, and for the Authorization Object for NW bgRFC.

  1. Once you have performed this Customizing activity, start the transaction bgRFC Configuration (transaction SBGRFCCONF).
  2. On the Scheduler: Destination tab, add an entry for each of the inbound destinations created before.
