RCF_SM59_TO_FRONTEND - Create RFC Connection to Front-End System

In this Customizing activity, you create the RFC connection from the backend system to the front-end system.

Note

• This Customizing activity is relevant only if you run the backend and the front-end on different systems.

• You perform this Customizing activity in the backend system.

• You must also use the Customizing activity Create RFC Connection to Backend System in the front-end system to create an RFC connection from the front-end system to the backend system.

You created a service user in the front-end system.

1. Create an RFC destination of type 3 (relationship to another ABAP system).

Note

Note that the name of the RFC destination can have a maximum length of 10 characters only, as you need to enter this as a parameter value for the system parameter BL2UI (Customizing activity Specify System Parameters for Web Dynpro).

1. On the Technical Settings tab page, enter the settings for the target system.
2. On the Logon & Security tab page under Logon, enter the logon data of the service user in the front-end system.
3. Save your entries.
