RCF_SM_ELEM - Define Search Template Elements

In this Customizing activity, you define the search template elements. These represent the criteria of a search.

You have performed the following Customizing activities:

• Define Information Categories

• Assign Information Category Fields to a Search Profile Type

The table of search template elements is a system table with its own namespace for customer entries.

The customer namespace is: Search template element Z*

1. Enter a key for the search template element.
2. Assign a type of the interface element to the search template element.

Note

The element types Job Family Potential and Performance Management are only advisable in an integrated system.

1. Specify which operators on the user interface can be linked with the search template element. It is possible to enter the following operator lists:

• Simple list: =, <>

• Extended list: >, >=, =, &lt;&gt;, <=, <

• No operators

Note

Regardless of the operator list stored here, it is never possible to enter an operator on the user interface for search template elements of the element types Performance Management or Questionnaire.

The extended list is automatically assigned to the search template elements of the element type Qualifications and Job Family Potential, regardless of the list that you store here for the operator.

1. Specify whether an input help should be generated for the search template element.
2. Select the information category that contains the field you want to assign to the search template element.
3. Select the field.

Note

Do not select a field for information categories containing qualifications or questionnaires.

The RANGE_ID_LEADING field must be assigned to search template elements of the element type Salary Expectation. This field cannot be selected using the input help.

The FULLTEXT field must be assigned to the search template element for the full text search. This field cannot be selected using the input help.

1. Specify the field type.

Note

You assign the search template element to a search template in the Customizing activity Assign Search Template Elements to Search Templates. The search template is based on a search profile type. You assign fields to the search profile type as well in the Customizing activity: Assign Information Category Fields to a Search Profile Type.

The field type you specify here must correspond to the field type of the field in the search profile type.

1. If you have determined that an input help should be generated for the search template element, specify an access class for the data retrieval.
2. If the access class delivers values from several fields, specify from which field the value help is to be created.
