RE-FX offers considerably more options for handling sales-based rent agreements than Classic RE. Before you can transfer sales-based rental agreements from Classic RE, you have to specify here how these agreements are to be migrated to RE-FX.

In Classic RE, the sales-based rent agreement is linked to the Advance Payment for Sales-Based Rent condition type. Minimum and maximum rent cannot be posted as conditions. Instead they have to be entered in the sales data.
Classic RE also does not distinguish among different sales types. You only have the option of entering a unit of measure in the sales-based rent agreement (when sales are not reported in terms of money, but in a unit of measure, such as, gallons of fuel).

In the Propose Conversion Decisions for Application Data step, the system created an entry in the table for each advance payment for sales-based rent that exists in Classic RE and for each unit of measure. You now have to complete this table so that the system is able to convert the lease-outs in a useful manner. If the table does not contain any entries, then there are no sales-based rental agreements in your system. In that case you can skip this point.

Enter the following for each row:

  • Sales-Based Rent Condition
In RE-FX, the entire sales-based rent agreement is attached to this condition type (from a technical standpoint). The sales relate to the objects that are assigned to the sales-based rent condition type. For posting, the sales-based settlement uses the parameters that are assigned to the sales-based rent condition type.
Define the sales-based rent condition type in Customizing (preferably by copying condition type 60 from standard Customizing). Then enter the key of the condition type you just defined here.
  • Condition Type for Minimum and Maximum Rent
In RE-FX, you can enter the minimum and maximum rent as separate conditions on the contract. Maximum rent is always entered as a statistical condition. As a result, it is not considered during periodic posting. Instead the system waits to take maximum rent into account until the system calculates the sales-based rent that is still to be paid.
Minimum rent is normally entered as a posting condition. However, the migration sets up the minimum rent as a statistical condition nonetheless (so that your system behaves as before).
Define the condition types for minimum and maximum rent in Customizing (preferably by copying condition types 61 and 63 from standard Customizing). Then enter the keys of the condition types you just defined here.
  • Sales Type
Specify the sales type that you want to assign the sales to. You have to define sales types first in Customizing. If you made a blank entry in the table (for example, with the text "complete assortment"), you can leave the sales type empty.
  • Note that the condition type from Classic RE is used for advance payments. The Customizing settings for this condition type are migrated automatically in the Convert Customizing step.
