In this Customizing activity, you define the daily work schedules used within shift scheduling.

Daily work schedules are used to broadly categorize and manage the working times that apply in a maintenance plant and work center. For example, the schedule might include morning, afternoon, night, and holiday shifts.

Defining daily work schedules is mandatory.

Daily work schedules are used within Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) plant management solutions in China.

Master data, relating to crew attributes and the assignment of crew members to crews, is up-to-date.

If you reference a factory calendar, then Customizing activities Maintain Calendar and Define, copy, delete, check plant must be completed.

You are using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) functions within Plant Maintenance (PM).

You have implemented either the PM, Regular Tasks Localization Topics for China or the PM, Shift Management Localization Topics for Chinabusiness function.

In this Customizing activity, you maintain the Daily Work Schedule (transaction SFTPM1). This transaction uses the Daily Work Schedule (V_IEAM_REG_DWS) Customizing view.

This information is used when generating shift schedules using Shift Schedule (transaction SFTP1).

The Shift field forms part of the primary key; the primary key also includes the Plantand Work Center fields.

There is no restriction on the number of daily work schedules that you can define for your maintenance plant and work center. However, once the daily work schedules are defined, you also need to define how they are organized (sequenced). For more information, see Customizing activity Define Period Work Schedules.

  1. Start the Daily Work Schedule (SFTPM1) transaction.
  2. Specify the following:
  • The plant and work center where the shift applies

  • The period of time for which the shift is valid

  • A name and description for the shift

  • The applicable working times for the shift

  • Whether a factory calendar applies where the shift takes place

  1. Save the daily work schedule.
