This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the SAP retail industry application component (LO-RFM-STO). In the In-Store Merchandise and Inventory Management UI5 applications you can activate settings that allow you to download product images to the app. You can use this BAdI to retrieve the image from the location where it is stored. This BAdI is called when a user searches for a product in the app.

• You have integrated with the relevant image and supplemental data provider system, for example Document Management Service (SAP DMS), or any other Product Information Management (PIM) service.

A fallback class CL_RETAIL_ST_SUPP_DATA_DMS is provided to integrate with SAP DMS. The following methods are provided:

• GET_SUPP_DATA_WITH_IMAGE

Retrieves one image for one article. It is associated with the Information tab of the Product Detail screen in the Look Up Retail Products application. This method returns all information in one request thus providing a work-around that avoids two OData calls to the back-end system when the OData service does not support multiple lists. The application sends a LIMvalue to retrieve large image files for the detail screen.

A implementation example class is provided that uses Document Management Services (DMS) to retrieve product images. Warranty information and product long descriptions are partially hard-coded in the example implementation. You can create a different BAdI implementation to integrate with another supplemental information, or image-providing system.
