In this IMG activity, you can define various status values. The user can assign these status values to a record or a document.

You can use the status management functions for all elements if the relevant service providers implement these functions. In the standard system, the status management functions are implemented for records and documents only.

Make the following entries:

  • Status ID
User-defined
  • Name
The user sees the name in the F4 help for the status in the attribute maintenance dialog.
  • Event
Optional. You can enter an event of the business object. (You enter the business object when you define the status profile.) The event is triggered when the user saves the record after changing its status.
Note: If you set the classification parameter WF_RAISE_EVENT to 'X' when you create the element type for records, then the events CREATED, CHANGED, CLOSED, and DELETED are raised automatically. You only need to enter any additional events that you require.
  • Message ID, message type, message number, message variables
Optional. This message is displayed if the user sets a new status.
  • Checkboxes
No significance in the standard system
(These checkboxes describe technical properties of the status. Whether they are used depends on the implementation of the service provider.)
