Labeling uses functions and objects from the SAP components Recipe Management (PLM-RM) and Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S). Therefore, you have to connect labeling to Recipe Management.

You manage the products, formulas, ingredients, nutrients, RDA profiles, and diets that you use in labeling in Recipe Management.

  • You have created the following master data:
Phrase groups
You create phrase groups in Customizing for Environment, Health and Safety under Basic Data and Tools -> Phrase Management -> Specify Phrase Libraries and Phrase Groups.
You have created the following phrase groups:
  • Phrase group for diet statements

  • Phrase group for footnotes

  • Phrase group for marketing statements

  • Phrase group for declaration groups

  • Phrase group for declared value statements

Default nutrient group and default diet group
You create a default nutrient or diet group in the recipe workbench as a specification of the specification type NUTR_GROUP or DIET_GROUP.
When you create a corresponding sublabel for nutrients or diets in labeling, the system displays the default groups you specified here.
Classes and characteristics
To create classes and characteristics, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Cross-Application Components -> Classification System -> Master Data.
You have created the following classes of class type 100:
  • Class for the description of ingredients on the label

  • Class for the ingredient composition

  • A class for the rounding rules for quantities of nutrients and a class for the rounding rules for recommended daily allowances of nutrients with the following characteristics:

- Interval
- Round to the Nearest
- Declared Value Statement
- Declared Value
- Do Not Display Item
Note
These classes are supplied with the specified characteristics with the standard system.
Value assignment types
  • You have created value assignment types for the classes specified above.

You create value assignment types in Customizing for Environment, Health and Safety under Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Specify Value Assignment Types.
Note
The value assignment types for rounding rules are supplied with the standard system.
  • You have created entries for the table-based value assignment for the value assignment types you created.

You do this in Customizing for Environment, Health Safety under Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Set Up Table-Based Value Assignment -> Create Entries for the Value Assignments. Check the entries under Set Up Table-Based Value Assignment.
  • You have assigned the value assignment types to the property trees.

You do this in Customizing for Environment, Health and Safety under Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Set Up Property Trees. The value assignment types for rounding rules are assigned to the property tree for nutrients (RM_NUTRIEN) by default.
You assign the other value assignment types to the RM default property tree (RM_SPECIFI).
  • You have matched up the master data.

On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics -> Environment, Health and Safety -> Basic Data and Tools -> Tools -> Match Up Master Data. Select the following checkboxes:
- Match Up ValAss Type and Char.
- Activate Phrasing of Characteristics
- Activate Phrasing of Fields
Choose Execute.

Enter the phrase groups, characteristics, or values in the fields.
