SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity, you define the events (calculations and formula explosions) and specify how different component types are taken into account in the events, that is, whether a calculation or a formula explosion is performed for a particular component type and whether the component type is copied to the result of the calculation or formula explosion.

You have defined the required component types for the specification category FORMULA in Customizing for the SAP Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) component in the IMG activity Specify Component Types for Compositions.

The standard system contains events for all the calculations and formula explosions supplied with the standard system.

  1. Check and define the required events in the following way:
    1. Choose Specify Events by double-clicking it.
    2. Check the standard settings and define more events if necessary
    3. Set the Explosion indicator for all events that are formula explosions.
    4. Save your entries and go back.
  2. Create entries in this IMG activity for all combinations of component type and event. Settings in an entry in which only one event and no component type was specified are only taken into account for formula items in which no component type is specified. There are two reports available for creating the necessary entries. To create the entries automatically and check them afterwards, proceed as follows:
    1. Choose Create Component Type Entries for Calculations by double-clicking it.
    2. Enter the required data. Note that the Test Run indicator is set by default, this means that you cannot set this indicator if you want to copy the result to the IMG activity.
    3. Choose Program -> Execute.
    4. Go back.
    5. Choose Create Component Type Entries for Formula Explosions by double-clicking it.
    6. Enter the required data. Note that the Test Run indicator is set by default, this means that you cannot set this indicator if you want to copy the result to the IMG activity.
    7. Choose Program -> Execute.
    8. Go back.
    9. Choose Check Component Type Entries by double-clicking it.
    10. Change the entries if required.
    11. Save your entries.

The EVT_CONV01 and EVT_CONV02 events control how you input data in the Input and Output formula view as follows:

  • If you set the Relevant to Function indicator for a component type in the EVT_CONV01 event, you can only enter materials in the Input and Output view to which a substance has been assigned.
  • If you set the Relevant to Function indicator for a component type in the EVT_CONV02 event, you can only enter substances in the Input and Output view to which a material has been assigned.

If, in your enterprise, you only want to specify the substances when you create a formula and specify the materials later on, for example, after you have made the material to substance assignments in the SAP EH&S component, do not set the Relevant to Function indicator for the EVT_CONV02 event. This enables you to specify substances in the formula to which a material has not been assigned. After you have made the material to substance assignments in EH&S, you can allow the system to add the materials in the formula automatically by choosing the Generate Materials function.
