This IMG activity describes the settings you make to distribute general and site recipes. You need these settings if you create recipes in an original system and then want to distribute them to other target systems.

The ALE business process allows for general and site recipes to be created in the original system and then distributed to one or more target systems.

  1. Choose a system where you can make all the cross-system settings if possible.
  2. Under Logical Systems, define all the systems that are to participate in the distribution.
  3. Under Maintain Distribution Model and Distribute Views, define the maintenance and target systems.
Object name: GeneralRecipe
Method: GeneralRecipe.Replicate
GeneralRecipe.SavereplicaMultiple
Message type: PPE_GREC Save PPE objects in general recipe
Object name: SiteRecipe
Method: SiteRecipe.Replicate
SiteRecipe.SavereplicaMultiple
Message type: PPE_SREC Save PPE objects in site recipe

  1. Under Partner Profiles, define the time at which data is to be exchanged between the systems.
Partner of partner type LS (Logical System)
Outbound parameters: Message types PPE_GREC and PPE_SREC
  1. Under Serialization Using Business Objects, activate serialized distribution via object types in inbound and outbound processing.
Object type: BUS1194 General recipe
Set the serialization indicator for this object type.
Object type: BUS1198 Site recipe
  1. Under Activate Change Pointers for Message Types, activate or deactivate change pointers for each message type as required.
PPE_SREC

Recipes that you created in an original system and distributed to a target system can only be overwritten in the target system with data from the same original system. If you are using several systems as an original system, we recommend that you define different recipe number ranges for each system.

You define the target and recipient report under Application Link Enabling (ALE) -> Sending and Receiving Systems -> Systems in Network -> Asynchronous Processing -> Maintain Ports

The following basic IDoc types are available in Recipe Management:

  • PPE_GREC01
  • PPE_SREC01

If you want to assign independent objects, such as documents, to the recipe, you have to distribute these using the relevant distribution scenarios before you distribute the recipes.
