RMX_0023 - Define Specification Categories for Information Systems

In this IMG activity, you specify the specification category for the trial information system and for the output variants you want to use in Trial Management.

You use the output variants to output trial data. Output variants are managed in the group overview of the SAP Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) component and are defined as user exits in Customizing for EH&S.

The specification category TRIAL is supplied with the standard system. SAP recommends that you use this specification category and do not create one of your own.

The following output variants are supplied with the standard system for the output of trial data:

• Trial output (function module RMXT650_TRSI)

• Trial comparison (function module RMXT653_TRCO)

1. If you want to use your own specification category, create it in table view maintenance in the TCGOBJ table. Use the customer namespace (Y* or Z*) for the specification category.
2. Specify the specification category for the trial information system in this IMG activity. This is the information system TMS in the standard system.
3. Proceed as follows to make sure that the output variants you require are available for the output of trial data:

• Define your own output variants if required in Customizing for EH&S under Manage User Exits (user exit category SUB_ISOUT). Assign the specification category TRIAL or your own specification category to them.

• Assign the specification category TRIAL or your own specification category to the EMPTY group in Customizing for EH&S under Specify Groups. The EMPTY folder is then available in the group overview for the output of trial data and contains the output variants you defined in Customizing for EH&S for the appropriate specification category.
