This document provides an overview of the Customizing activities that you can use to configure the credit check function for use in Service. If everything is set up correctly, you can use the credit check function for opportunities, service confirmations, service orders, and service contracts.

This document serves as the entry point for all relevant Customizing activities in Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) and Service. You can use the links provided in the Activitiessection to jump directly to the listed activities.

After you have completed the settings in each Customizing activity, you can navigate back to this document using the green Back (F3) arrow.

You have defined and activated business partner roles for use with Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM).

  • Make the required settings in Customizing for Financial Supply Chain Management:
  • Credit Management -> Credit Risk Monitoring -> Master Data -> Create Credit Segments
    In this activity, you create credit segments. Credit segments group the business of a company from the view of credit assignment and control. You can, for instance, create credit segments for certain product types or business areas.

  • Credit Management -> Credit Risk Monitoring -> Master Data -> Define Rating Procedure
    In this activity, you define the rating procedures that you can use to process external credit information (e.g. Dun & Bradstreet or SCHUFA) for your business partners. You can use all available ratings for a business partner to calculate the credit score.

  • Credit Management -> Credit Risk Monitoring -> Master Data -> Define Customer Credit Group
    In this activity, you define customer credit groups. You use these credit groups to group your business partners. Examples of customer credit groups are domestic and foreign customers, regular customers or insured customers.

  • Credit Management -> Credit Risk Monitoring -> Master Data -> Define Formulas
    In this activity, you define the formulas used to calculate the credit score and the credit limit of a business partner.

  • Credit Management -> Credit Risk Monitoring -> Master Data -> Create Risk Class
    In this activity, you can create risk classes that are assigned manually or automatically to your business partners.

  • Credit Management -> Credit Risk Monitoring -> Credit Limit Check -> Define Blocking Reasons
    In this activity, you can create blocking reasons that can be assigned to blocked credit accounts.

Make the required settings to integrate SAP Credit Managementwith SAP S/4HANA Sales:

  • Credit Management -> Integration with Accounts Receivable Accounting and Sales and Distribution -> Integration with Sales and Distribution -> Deactivate SAP Credit Management
    In this activity, you can activate SAP Credit Managementshould it have been deactivated.

  • Credit Management -> Integration with Accounts Receivable Accounting and Sales and Distribution -> Integration with Sales and Distribution -> Define Credit Segment
    In this activity, you can define credit segments to be used in Accounts Receivable Accountingand SAP S/4HANA Sales.

  • Credit Management -> Integration with Accounts Receivable Accounting and Sales and Distribution -> Integration with Sales and Distribution -> Assign Credit Control Area and Credit Segment
    In this activity, you can define credit control areas to which you then assign credit segments.

  • Credit Management -> Integration with Accounts Receivable Accounting and Sales and Distribution -> Integration with Sales and Distribution -> Assign Sales Area to Credit Control Area
    In this activity, you can assign sales areas to credit control areas.

  • Credit Management -> Integration with Accounts Receivable Accounting and Sales and Distribution -> Integration with Sales and Distribution -> Define Automatic Credit Control.
    In this activity, you can define automatic credit checks that the system runs during order processing.

Make the required settings in Customizing for Service:

  • Basic Functions -> Credit Management -> General Settings -> Maintain Credit Group
    In this activity, you define customer credit groups and assign check rules to these groups.
