In this Customizing activity, you can perform the following activities:

  • Create outlier detection profiles
  • Specify the planning level that the system uses for different planning areas during outlier detection
  • Assign event catalogs to planning areas

We recommend that in the Outlier Detection Deviation Thresholds view, you specify intervals (thresholds) that are continuous and have an open end on both ends of the interval.

  • Outlier Detection Profile Creation
  • You can create an outlier detection profile in the Outlier Detection Profiles view.

  • In the Outlier Detection Deviation Thresholds view, you can create a decision table that determines which event types the system should assign to certain deviations if no other event types can be assigned.

  • Assignment of Event Catalogs to Planning Areas
  • In the Event Catalogs Used for Planning Areas view, you can assign event catalogs to planning areas. In the Future Events Estimation view, you can configure for these combinations how the system estimates future events during the statistical forecasting run in Demand Planning. These settings influence the identification and assignment of future events during statistical forecasting.

  • Specification of Outlier Detection Levels for Planning Areas
  • In the Outlier Detection Levels for Planning Areas view, you can specify the planning level that you want the system to use for different planning areas during outlier detection. These settings restrict the planning level on which the system performs outlier detection.

  • Outlier Detection Period Before and After Settings
  • In the Outlier Detection Period Before and After Settings view, you can specify how many periods before and after the currently evaluated period the outlier detection process should consider for its moving average calculations. You can define these settings for each planning area and periodicity combination.
