Define your financial statement versions for the balance sheet and profit and loss statement.

Define the versions that you need for the balance sheet and profit and loss statement by copying one of the templates and modifying it to your requirements. You can also choose "New Entries" to create your own versions. The templates are updated by SAP, for example, as a result of legal changes.

You can define versions for a specific chart of accounts, for a group chart of accounts, or without any specific assignment. You then determine the financial statement items for your version.

You assign groups of accounts to the items at the lowest levels of the version. You can also use conditions to control in which item accounts are displayed. This enables you to assign accounts or a group of accounts to a specific item, depending on the respective balance.

Alternatively, you can also assign functional area intervals at the lowest level of the version, instead of account intervals. Either account intervals or functional area intervals can be assigned to a balance sheet item. You must explicitly define financial statement versions to which functional areas are assigned as such. You do this by setting the "Fun.area allowed" indicator. This financial statement version can then also be used by the notes to financial statement in the G/L account information system.

Define the necessary versions and maintain the financial statement items.

You can also define your versions in the following configuration step: Finance -> General Ledger -> Chart of Accounts: "Define Financial Statement Versions in Global Accounting Hierarchies".

For more information about the definition of the financial statement version, see SAP Help Portal. Choose More -> Help -> Product Assistance.
