In this IMG activity you copy company codes.

  1. Choose Copy. The system determines all the associated tables, in other words, all the tables relating to the organizational object "company code" that can be found on the basis of foreign key relationships and user exit definitions. You can follow the progress of the determination run in the status bar of the current session.
  2. In the Copy dialog box, enter an existing company code in the From Company Code field and a company code that does not yet exist in the To Company Code field. You can also enter an existing company code as the target company code. In this case, the system only copies the missing data to the target company code.
  3. For some organizational objects, you need to work through one or several dialog steps from the user exits. Your answers to these questions will depend on your individual requirements.
  4. If you have opted to have client-dependent objects copied automatically, you must specify an existing Customizing request or create a new one.
  5. Once the table entries and addresses have been copied successfully, the system works through the number ranges belonging to the organizational object "company code". In some cases, intervals may not have been defined for one or several of the number range objects for the source company code, or intervals may already exist for the target company code. When the system copies the number ranges, the errors are processed in the background and written to the log.
  6. The system displays accompanying messages on the status bar. When the run has finished, the message "Company code X was copied to company code Y" appears. If the target company code is an existing company code, you are informed that the missing data has been copied over.
  7. After you have copied a company code, you should check all the number range objects. You may need to adjust the number range intervals, create additional intervals, or change current number levels.

Note:
If you are using a 32-bit GUI, the system displays the selected objects and the corresponding activities on the initial screen in a tabstrip.
