With this IMG activity you control the printing of papers in the JIT process. You can, for example, define that an action issues a form on a specific printer, dependent on the user and the production line. You can format and issue the print-out in SAPScript or save it in a local file.

The print-out can include the data of the call header, the components group and the call components.

You can, for example, also print barcodes for the components groups that you import later for entering the progress confirmation.

Often, components lists are printed for one call. These components lists accompany the call through the production and can be used as work instructions. Here, for example, you can control that the action PCOM (print component list) issues the component list on a specific printer, dependent on the user, plant and production line.

  1. First of all, create a new print mode. This determines the type of issue for the combination of Action, User and Print control.
  2. Enter the action, which triggers the papers to be printed (for example PCOM print components list or PICK print pick list).
  3. If the print-out is dependent on a specific user, enter the user.
  4. Using the print control indicator choose whether the entry is to be valid in the normal process of a call, or for example, only for reprinting for scrap.
  5. Select the print formatting mode, which defines the type of output:
  • If you have selected the print formatting mode Print formatting via customer-exit, you can format the print-out of the components list and the pick list via customer-exits in the enhancement JIT03_03.

  • You can select print formatting mode print output without form formatting if you have a sub-system with your own form formatting. The system then writes the data as a spool request in the output control.

  • If, for example, you are currently in the project phase, you can choose the print formatting mode no print.

For all other print modes, you have to create one or more print parameters. With the print parameters you can print, dependently of the plant and production line, on different printers. To do so, proceed as follows:
  • If the output is to be dependent of a specific plant or a specific production line, make these entries in the print parameters.

  • If you have select the print formatting mode SAPScript print formatting, enter the desired form in the field form. You can use a JIT template or you can define a form yourself.

  • If you select the print formatting mode output to local workfile, enter the name without a suffix in the field file name. The system automatically completes the name per call with a unique number in table form in the file.

  • If you have selected the print formatting mode express mail, enter the address in the field message recipient. The express mail contains a short message only, not detailed information about the call.

  1. Save your entries.
  2. Log off, then log back on to the system to activate the print control.

You can edit forms in the form painter. In the SAP standard system, there are two template forms for printing.

  • Form JIT_ML001 for action PCOM (print component list). This form already contains fields for printing barcodes.
  • Form JIT_R0001 for action PICK (print pick list).
