In this IMG activity, you define the possible diagnosis codes for each catalog category.

You can define texts and codes to satisfy your individual requirements in a catalog that is specific to your healthcare facility.

If a diagnosis code is an entry that is not relevant for statistics (i.e. not an ICD code), you can create a corresponding link to the catalog used for statistics. To do this, enter the catalog category and the diagnosis code in the reference fields.

If you maintain the Sex and/or Valid From/ Valid To (age limits) fields, these values are used to validate the diagnosis you enter in the diagnosis coding transaction (for example: children's illness in an adult).

If you flag the Hit List checkbox, the diagnosis is added to a list of the most common diagnoses. This list then serves as an input help for coding diagnoses.

The Diagn.Group and Generic Header checkboxes are used in connection with maintaining hierarchic catalogs and setting up keyword search catalogs, and are documented in the corresponding sections of the Implementation Guide.

The ICD9 diagnosis catalog from DIMDI is supplied by SAP in client 000 and can be copied into other clients using the client copy function. For information about the import programs provided for other widely available diagnosis coding catalogs, refer to the section entitled Diagnoses - Import Catalogs.
