In this Customizing activity, you can maintain all the case classification categories that your institution requires or that you consider useful by way of additional information. The term ‘classification category’ refers to a criterion according to which a case can be described in greater detail or classified in relation to a specified period.

Patient Management has the following three standard classification categories:

  • Classification of cases in patient groups according to nursing staff regulations
  • Classification of sick newborn infants for billing purposes
  • Treatment class to simplify recording of billing-related information

In addition to these, you can define any number of classification categories to suit your requirements.

Examples:

  • Classification relating to treatment type
  • Classification relating to risk of infection
  1. The first screen displays an overview of the classification categories that have already been entered in the system.
  2. To change existing classification categories, choose Details.
To add new classification categories, choose Edit -> New Entries.

Choose Details to access the details screen, where you can specify the following:

  • Whether the classification category applies to the nursing staff regulations
  • Whether it is possible to classify several cases with the same category at the same time
  • Whether or not classification categories have to be maintained for specific dates
  • Whether or not the classification category can be entered using the dialog element 'Case Classification' in the Clinical Process Builder (CPB)
  • Whether the case classifications for the classification category are to be copied from the previous case in the dialog element 'Case Classification' in the CPB
