In this IMG activity, you maintain the patient name letter interval for the automatic assignment of agents processing insurance verification requests. You can also specify a telephone and fax number that the system transferrs into the header data of the insurance verification request.

If you maintain an assignment, the system automatically sets the agent (and, if required, the telephone and fax number too) when you save a new insurance verification request. You can also manually maintain the agent on the insurance verification header data screen. Alternatively, when you choose the Determine Agent function, the system uses the assignment you make here to default the processing agent.

In many subsequent programs (e.g. print or reminder program), you can restrict the selection of insurance verification requests in relation to particular processing agents.

If you want to determine the agent using other criteria, the function module exit EXIT_SAPLNKOS_001 is provided for this purpose in the enhancement NKOS0001.

Make an assignment to an agent by entering the following data:

  • Institution (Inst. field)
  • Lower limit for the letter interval (From field)
  • Upper limit for the letter interval (To field)
  • User name (use the system user name, User field)
  • Telephone number (optional; Telephone field)
  • Fax number (optional; Fax Number field)

You want to define two intervals for institution 1:

  • A - N for processing agent 1
  • O - Z for processing agent 2

You have to make the following entries in the assignment table:

Inst. From To Agent
1 A N Agent 1
1 O Z Agent 2

Z

The letter intervals refer to the standardized patient last names.

Note that you cannot define overlapping intervals. If overlapping intervals exist, the first agent is always used.
