In this activity, you define access sequences.

The access sequence is a search strategy which the SAP system uses to search for condition records valid for a condition type.

To define an access sequence, make the following settings:

  • access sequence
four-digit alphanumeric key which uniquely identifies the access sequence
  • description
a text describing the access sequence
  • detailed data (only the most important data is listed here: for further information, see Online help)
  • sequential number
the sequential number of the access in the access sequence

  • table
condition table containing key fields from the output condition records

  • To create a new access sequence, copy a similar one already existing in the system and change it to correspond to your requirements.
  • If you define your own access sequences, the key should start with the letter Z since SAP reserves this letter for the standard system.

  1. Check to what extent you can change and use the access sequences contained in the standard SAP system.
  2. Define new access sequences as required.
