You can transfer standard networks from the Project System to MS Project (R) and networks from MS Project into standard networks.

To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Install MS Project as described in its manual.
  2. Create a view with suitable export tables for resources and activities as described in the MS manual.
These tables must contain at least the following fields:

Resource table:

MS:SAP
  • 1: Description

  • 2: SAP work center number

  • 3: Plant

  • 4: Capacity category

  • 41: Maximum units

  • 48: Calendar ID

Activity table:

MS:SAP
  • 1: Description

  • 3: Grouping level (alternative to 120)

  • 11: SAP control key

  • 12: SAP milestone description

  • 13: SAP network number and SAP network alternative or SAP activity no.

  • 40: Standard duration

  • 70: Predecessor relationships

  • 71: Successor relationships

  • 81: Milestone indicator

  • 120: Indicator: Composite activity (alternative to 3)

So that you do not have to make modifications to your own export tables for the upload and download, you should first work with the view file that can be obtained from SAP (the modified standard view). If you use it, you do not have to modify export tables.

You will find detailed information on the MS Project interface in the SAP Library under Interfaces to the Project System.

You need MS Project 3.0 or higher under Windows to work with your MS project.
