SAP E-Book

In this step, you transfer variants of a BOM.

You must have created a sequential file containing the BOM data from your existing IT system and transferred this file to the SAP System.

  1. In the Logical file name field, enter the sequential file that contains the BOM data from your existing IT system.
The entry consists of the following data:
/path/name of sequential file
  1. In the dataset Storage location of file to be read, enter information on the server where the sequential file with the BOM data from your existing IT system is stored.
If your file is on external application server, enter the name of the server. (You can use the possible entries function to choose a server.)
  1. With the Create session indicator, you define whether or not batch input sessions are to be created. You can process these sessions at a later date.
  • Select the indicator if you want batch input sessions to be created for all data.

  • Do not select the indicator if you want all variants to be created online. In this case, only the BOMs that were created incorrectly are written to batch input sessions.

For more information on the structure of the sequential file, see the documentation of the program "Create Variant BOMs via Batch Input" (report RCSBI030).

There is no point in providing a transport connection for this function because this function does not change any customizing data.
