SAP E-Book

In this work step, you specify how changes to the change master record are controlled.

The change type can be defined in two substeps:

  1. In the first substep, you enter a numerical key to identify the change type (change type and description).
  2. If you enter a change request, you have to select the change type. The system creates a status object automatically. The status profile (system status) is already defined internally for a change request and is assigned to this status object (change master record). The process flow that is controlled by the system status cannot be changed by the user.
  3. If you do not add any more data for the change type, the process flow for change is controlled exclusively by the internally defined system status.
  4. In the second substep, you can enter the data to supplement the process flow according to the needs of your enterprise.
    1. Business transactions from the workflow instance can supplement the process flow. Enter the data for the workflow task that references a workflow definition (object type and ID).
    2. You can define workflow tasks in the workflow workbench for change management. These are performed for certain events. Events are defined in the workflow object type catalog and describe changes to the status of objects.
    3. You can find the object type for the change master record (ECM) in the workflow object type catalog under the entry "Logistics General".
    4. The workflow task is defined for the object type "workflow task" (WF) by entering an object ID that you assign to the change type in this work step.
    5. You can add enterprise-specific user statuses that you defined as status profiles in an earlier work step to the specified system status.
    6. The status profile for the change type (master record) must be assigned to the "change management - master record" object type.
    7. You can assign business transactions to the user status. You can use follow-up actions to determine the consequences for the relevant status of carrying out a certain transaction, for example, the transaction can set or delete the status.
    8. In the Signature Network ECR/ECO field, you specify which approval process takes place when you set the individual system statuses.

If you want to specify particular workflow tasks for the process flow, you have to define them beforehand in the workflow workbench.

If you also want to use a status profile to control the process flow, you have to carry out the Define Status Profiles work step beforehand.

  1. Specify the change types for the change master record according to your requirements.
  2. If you want to control the process flow exclusively by means of the system status, enter a numerical key and a descriptive short text only.
  3. If the system is to perform a workflow task, you have to enter the data that identifies this task. Enter the object type and object ID too.
  4. If a user status is to be added to the system status, enter the key for the status profile.
