In this Customizing activity, you can define the following additional attributes for bill of material (BOM) usage to determine the purpose of the BOM in Manufacturing for Production Engineering and Operations (PEO):

• Version Control

This attribute allows you to specify whether this BOM usage can be used to create date-effective BOMs or version-controlled BOMs.

• Production Relevance Usage

This attribute allows you to specify whether BOMs that have this BOM usage can be used for:

• Production Planning

If you select this value, the BOMs can only be used to create planned orders for production planning.

• Production Execution

If you select this value, the BOMs can only be used to create shop floor orders for production execution. A prerequisite is that the BOM usage is Version Controlled BOM.

• Disassembly Template

If you select this value, the BOMs are relevant for disassembly. A prerequisite is that the BOM usage is Version Controlled BOM.

• Blank (Production Planning and Production Execution)

If you leave the field blank, the BOMs can be used for both production planning and production execution.

• Mandatory Assignment of Change Record

This attribute allows you to specify whether BOMs that have this BOM usage should have mandatory assignment of change record.

Note

• If you've selected the Mandatory Assignment of Change Recordcheckbox and the change record is assigned to the material plant, the system allows you to create the BOM.

• If you've selected the Mandatory Assignment of Change Recordcheckbox and the change record is not assigned to the material plant, the system displays an error message.

• Manual Versioning

This attribute is specific only for version controlled BOMs. The attribute allows you to specify whether the version controlled BOMs with this BOM usage can be:

• Manual Versioning

If you've selected the Manual Versioningcheckbox, the system allows you to manually enter the version while creating a version BOM.

• Automatic Versioning

If you've not selected the Manual Versioningcheckbox, the system automatically calculates the version while creating a version BOM.

When configuring these settings, please note the following dependencies:

• Date-effective BOMs (Version Control = Date Validity Controlled) may be used for production planning only.

• Version-controlled BOMs (Version Control = Version Controlled) may be used for production planning and production execution.

• Shop floor orders in PEO can be created only if the production relevance of the BOM usage is set to Production Execution or left blank (= production planning and production execution).
