SIMG_CFMENUOLSDOVTK - Define Shipment Types

In this step, you define the shipment types which contain all the essential control features for the shipment document.

Essential control elements of the shipment type are, for example:

• Number ranges

• Default values, such as selection variant, weight unit, output type

• Document specifications, such as the transportation processing type, service level and so on.

• Control specifications for the partner, output and text determination procedures
  

The shipment types represent the different forms of transportation processing in sales and distribution.

The following forms of transportation processing are distinguished:

• In an individual shipment, one or more deliveries are transported by a single mode of transport from one point of departure to one final destination.

• In a collective shipment, one or more deliveries are transported by a single mode of transport from one or more points of departure to one or more final destinations.

• In a multimodal shipment, deliveries are transported by several modes of transport between one or more points of departure and one or more final destinations.

You can create a new shipment type in the following way:

1. Enter an alphanumeric key with a maximum of 4 characters together with a textual description.
2. Maintain the control elements in the detail screen.
