SIMG_CFMENUOLSDOVZI - Determine Requirement Type by Item Category and MRP Type

Determine requirement types for sales documents according to item categories and material requirements planning (MRP) types.

In the standard set up, the system determines requirement types according to a default search strategy that begins with the material master. The system applies this default strategy for all item categories for which the source field in the assignment table is set to 0.

This default search strategy to determine the requirement type can be summarized as follows:

1. First, the system uses the strategy group in the material master to search for a requirement type.
2. If no requirement type is found, the system applies a special rule and attempts to find a requirement type based on the item category and the MRP type.
3. If this is not possible, the system attempts to find a requirement type by using the item category only.
4. If this last attempt also fails, the system declares the transaction as not relevant for the availability check or transfer of requirements.

If you want to use an alternative search strategy, you can set the source field for the row representing the target item category to 1. For item categories that are assigned this alternative search strategy, the system ignores the material master and tries to determine the requirement type based on the item category and MRP type only.

1. Decide whether you want to use the default search strategy (source field value 0) or alternative search strategy (source field value 1).
2. In the assignment table, change the value of the source field for the relevant rows as needed.
