Define custom entries for customer groups.

The customer master includes reserve fields that are not assigned to any particular function. To use these fields according to the needs of your organization, you can freely define up to five different customer groups. In each group, you can create a set of 3-character value/ description combinations.

Then, in the Sales and Distribution view of the customer master data record, on the Additional data tab, you can classify the customer using the defined values in each of the top five customer groups.

Note: Customer groups 6-10 are reserved for SAP S/4HANA Retail.

The reserve fields used for customer groups are stored in the system as follows:

  • Customer group 1 (View: V_TVV1 Field: KVGR1)
  • Customer group 2 (View: V_TVV2 Field: KVGR2)
  • Customer group 3 (View: V_TVV3 Field: KVGR3)
  • Customer group 4 (View: V_TVV4 Field: KVGR4)
  • Customer group 5 (View: V_TVV5 Field: KVGR5)

You can change the field descriptions, for example, replace Customer Group 1 with Third-Party Customer, by changing the field labels of the corresponding data elements (KVGR1 to KVGR5). You can change the field labels as follows:

  1. In the main SAP Menu, choose Tools -> ABAB Workbench -> Utilities -> Enhancements -> Project Management.
  2. In the Project Management of SAP Enhancements, choose More -> Goto -> Text Enhancements -> Key Words -> Change.
  3. Maintain the field labels for data elements KVGR1 to KVGR5.

Maintain values and descriptions for each of the customer groups.

For example, you designate Customer Group 1 to mean Third-Party Customer. You define the value/ description combinations as follows:

Customer Group 1 Description
TP The customer is a third-party customer
NTP The customer is not a third-party customer

Then, in the customer master record, on the Additional data tab, you enter TP in the Customer Group 1field, to specify that a customer is a third-party customer.
