In this work step, you assign number range groups to maintenance plan categories. Thereby, you determine how maintenance plans are to be numbered by the system. The number range group indicates which number range is relevant for a specific maintenance plan category. A number range group can allow both, internal and external number assignment.

You assign the maintenance plan category PM (Maintenance Order) to the number range group 01 / 02 (Internal / External Number Assignment). When you create a maintenance plan with maintenance plan category PM, the system automatically assigns a number within the number interval from 000000000001 to 599999999999 or you can assign your own customer-specific number.
