Define JIT call profiles with the basic settings for different JIT call partner roles, types of summary, and posting control for goods receipt.

In this step, you define JIT call profiles. You assign a JIT call profile to a control cycle, thereby setting the automatic controls for all JIT calls created via this control cycle.

A JIT call profile consists of the following basic parameters for the creation of JIT calls:

• The JIT Call Type determines the type of summarized JIT call. The JIT call type Kanban Summarized JIT Call is currently available for all JIT call processes.

• The Partner Role for JIT Call detemines the partner role used to define the message partner for transmission of the JIT calls.

• The Summary determines the type of summary.

You can choose whether to summarize and how the JIT calls are to be summarized (for example, by plant). If you choose to summarize, the system checks whether the material requirements can be assigned to an existing summarized JIT call header (for example, if you are summarizing by plant, it checks whether a summarized JIT call header exists for the plant). If the system cannot add the requirement as a new item in an existing summarized JIT call header, it creates a new summarized JIT call header with one item.

• The Time Definition determines the time period within which the JIT calls are to be summarized.

• The Goods Receipt Posting Control indicator determines whether single or multiple goods receipt postings per item are possible.

When creating the control cycle, enter the profile you have created here together with the replenishment strategy intended for the summarized JIT call.

To create a JIT call profile, proceed as follows:

1. Starting from Customizing for Kanban, choose Define JIT Call Profile.

The Change View "JIT Call Profile": Overview screen appears.

1. Choose New Entries.

The New Entries: Details of Created Entries screen appears.

1. Enter a description and long text for the JIT call profile.
2. Select the JIT call type.
3. Select the partner role, the type of summary, and the goods receipt posting control indicator. If necessary, enter the time definition.
4. Save your entries.
