In this IMG activity you set up the planning file required for the planning run and perform a consistency check.

Set up Planning File and Perform a Consistency Check

Here, you must carry out a background job for creating and checking the planning file entries.

Choose "Set up planning file" if you want to activate MRP for a plant. The materials in this plant (or plants) are then included in the planning file.

The procedure for setting up the planning file entries is as follows:

  1. Create variant for your background job.
  2. You have two options on how to proceed:
    1. Using Schedule, you can define when the background job is to be started. The background job is then automatically started on the defined date (date and time).
      By choosing Show scheduling, you can display the scheduled background jobs.
    2. By choosing Immediate start, the job is started immediately and is carried out in the background.

The planning file entries are also checked to make sure that they are consistent. This program deletes planning file entries that are no longer valid or adjusts them accordingly.

Carry out the report for the following tasks:

  • When setting up planning file entries in a new system.
  • To perform a consistency check for material master properties such as the MRP type or phantom.
  • To clean up planning file entries for materials with a deletion indicator in the material master.
