In this activity, you enter the translation ratios for currency translation for each exchange rate type and currency pair. You also specify whether you want to use an alternative exchange rate type for specific currency pairs.
Enter the conversion factors for each exchange rate type and each currency pair. You can also specify whether you want to use an alternative exchange rate type for certain currency pairs. The factors that you enter for the currency translation here are used to manage the exchange rates.
The exchange rate from US dollar (USD) to Japanese yen (JPY) is maintained as follows: USD 1 per JPY 100. The exchange rate from Japanese yen (JPY) to US dollar (USD) is maintained as JPY 100 per US dollar 1. The conversion factors for currencies need to be defined per exchange rate type. The following exchange rate types are provided in the system:
- Exchange rate type C = use of cash
- Exchange rate type M = use of default conversion for the average rate
- Exchange rate type P = use for cost planning
