In this activity, you determine the material direct costs for the planned production quantity at a given point in time. For this purpose, the system calls up the costed multilevel BOM from Product Costing (component CO-PC).

The planned production quantity for a period is calculated from the planned sales quantity and the planned changes in stock.

There are two possible situations in which you can perform this activity:

1. When introducing quantity-based planning, the system automatically calculates revenues which have already been planned by valuating the planned sales quantity with transfer prices. After this has been done, you can start determination of the material direct costs in a separate step.
2. Material direct costs change during the course of the planning process, due to movements within the valuated multilevel BOM for example. This makes it necessary to revaluate quantities already planned, using the current material cost estimate.

• You have already performed the necessary activities for quantity-based planning.

• You have entered planned sales quantities in manual planning and, where appropriate, entered planned stock changes for representative materials.

Note that data previously entered in manual planning for Profit Center Accounting is deleted during update in the production run.

A deletion log is available so that you can see how many records have been deleted. If you wish to run this deletion log, activate the Deletion Log field.
