The costing variant represents the connection between the application and Customizing, as all cost estimates are carried out and saved with reference to a costing variant. You use a costing variant to include all of the control parameters. You should note that in the costing variant for concurrent costing not all of the usual control parameters for the costing variant in the standard system are supported.

The following relate to the costing variant for the concurrent costing:

• costing type

• valuation variant

• data control

In the assignments section you determine:

• which cost component structure is used for the costing (see also: define cost components)

• which costing version is used (see also: define costing version)

• whether the cost component split is saved in controlling area currency in addition to the company code currency (see also: activate cost component split in controlling area currency)

You cannot cost cross-company using this costing variant.

Prerequisites

If you want to work with message control, you have to carry out the following process steps:

• assign messages

• define condition records for message control

Standard settings

The costing variant PCIP (simulation costing) has been predefined for the concurrent costing. The following functions are not supported:

• costing of a quantity structure

• additive costs

• reference variant

• quantity structure control

• transfer control

• cross-company costing
