SAP E-Book

In this step, you define the number ranges for packing instructions.

There are two types of number assignment:

  • Internal number assignment
The system automatically assigns a sequence number from the defined number range.
  • External number assignment
You enter a number from the external number range.

When creating a number range, you specify whether it is internal or external.

Number range objects can be transported as follows:

In the initial screen, select Interval -> Transport.

Make sure that all the intervals for the selected number range object are deleted beforehand in the target system, so that only the exported intervals exist after the import. The numbers are imported with the value current at time of export.

The system does not transport or convert dependent tables.

In order to define a number range, you must insert a new number interval:

  1. Enter an alphanumeric key of up to two figures.
  2. Enter the limits of the number range. The individual number intervals must not overlap. Each number can be used only once.
  3. Enter the appropriate indicator if the number range is to be used for external assignment.
